Friday, September 11 and Saturday, September 12, starting at 11:00 PM — ROAMING CONCERT THROUGH THE STREETS OF THE CENTER
DIXIE BROTHERS
The Dixie Brothers is a quartet performing a repertoire of Dixieland standards, the genre born on the streets of New Orleans at the beginning of the 20th century. The program includes all the tunes that defined the early days of jazz’s birth and expansion, featuring bands gathering on street corners, sidewalks, or accompanying street parades, celebrations, and funerals.
JAM SESSION
After the main stage concert, the music continues, animating other venues around the city. A jam session opened by the workshop instructors, giving students and any other interested musicians the opportunity to perform, test themselves, and share the stage with great professionals. The jam sessions will take place at venues in the center of Montecatini Terme.
Sunday, September 13, starting at 11:00 PM — ROAMING CONCERT THROUGH THE STREETS OF THE CENTER
P-FUNKING BAND
To close the Festival, an exceptional marching band composed of more than 10 musicians playing brass and percussion.
The P-Funking Band blends music and movement in their performances, creating a fresh, original, and explosive mix of funk, disco, hip hop, soul, rhythm and blues, and marching-style jazz. A driving rhythm and a captivating repertoire that combines well-known masterpieces and rare gems with original tracks, resulting in a unique proposal featuring unusual arrangements and engaging choreography.
JAM SESSION
On the final day of the Festival, the instructors leave the jam session stage to the workshop students for a final performance. As always, there will be room for anyone who wishes to perform, test themselves, and share the stage.
