The 6th edition of OltreLaRocca is about to arrive!

Saturday, September 5 and Sunday, September 6 marks the beginning of the fairytale of Montecatini Alto with music, art, and street theater!

For the 6th consecutive year, Montecatini Alto relives its fairytale atmosphere with “Oltre La Rocca,” a street art festival scheduled for Saturday, September 5, and Sunday, September 6. The event will once again transform the village into an enchanted place with an oneiric atmosphere, hosting street artists from all over the world who will perform in the historic town amidst magic and dreams.

A rich program of performances features international artists performing in two evocative locations: the well-established Largo Luigi Gori (in front of the former Quisisana), a “panoramic terrace” offering a 360-degree view of the Valdinievole all the way to Serravalle Pistoiese, and the ancient Rocca, which provides a natural “stage” illuminated only by candlelight, ready to thrill spectators with an intimate and poetic atmosphere.

Two show sessions are scheduled for both evenings in Largo Luigi Gori, along with artistic performances at various times inside the historic Rocca. The shows will be accessible to all, and for the performances in Largo Luigi Gori, free seats must be reserved through the website https://www.oltrelarocca.it/, where the complete program of the event is also available.

Lively additions to the alleys of Montecatini Alto will include artisan craft markets on Via Ballerini and under the portico of the “Teatro dei Risorti” in Piazza Giusti, art exhibitions with impromptu painting sessions, gourmet street food in Piazza Barbano and Giovanetti (near the Montecatini Alto funicular exit), as well as the opportunity to taste local traditional menus in the many restaurants and taverns located around the main square, ready to welcome visitors in their outdoor seating areas.

Additionally, on the occasion of the festival, the Museum of Sacred Art at the Church of San Pietro Apostolo will remain open exceptionally until 10:00 PM.

The event, which starts on both days at 7:00 PM, will end at midnight. For the occasion, visitors can reach the village using a free shuttle bus service with boarding/drop-off on Via Bruceto (AT bus stop – Minigolf side), with parking available at Parcheggio Fedeli. The service of the historic “Gigio and Gigia” Funicular will also be guaranteed as always, with additional trips to and from Montecatini Terme.
