Joint Presentation: “Il condominio di via Tembien” by Paolo Ricci and “Quaranta notti nel deserto” by Sergio Piccolotto
This event features two authors deeply connected to the city of Montecatini Terme, where they spent their youth. United by a long-standing friendship, common passions, and a lifelong commitment to cultural activism, Ricci and Piccolotto present their latest novels in a multi-disciplinary evening.
The presentation will be enriched by live performances: musical segments by the duo Dori and Leo and Aldo Gigli, and dramatic readings of excerpts from the books by actors Alessandra Buffoni and Marco Tognozzi. The atmosphere will be further enhanced by an exhibition of paintings by Doriana Tobaldo.
About the novels:
- “Il condominio di via Tembien” by Paolo Ricci History with a capital “H” is always hidden in plain sight. To be understood, it requires memory, recollection, and confession. This novel serves as a testament—a bridge between generations—and a dream that allows them to touch and inspire one another, all unlocked by a forgotten diary.
- “Quaranta notti nel deserto” (Forty Nights in the Desert) by Sergio Piccolotto In a battered land where the history of humanity seems to stand at the edge of an abyss, a man and a woman reunite after years of separation. Forced by uncontrollable events, they are compelled to measure themselves against what truly matters in life, while the world around them presages an impending conflagration.
Moderator: Cinzia Silvestri. Admission: Free.
