Summer in the Library 2026 – “Friday Author Series”

The “Friday Author Series” is a collection of six literary events featuring authors who will present their latest works, ranging from fiction to non-fiction. These meetings, organized in collaboration with PromoCultura, will take place throughout June and July in the beautiful setting of the “Forini Lippi” park, located at Via Provinciale Lucchese 41.

Nathalie is a young woman preparing to begin her first job far from home. She finds a position as a housekeeper in the villa of Mr. Harlan, a stern and tormented man scarred by a difficult childhood. The house, immersed in a gloomy and isolated landscape, becomes the stage for psychological tension and disturbing mysteries. Nathalie must confront the sisters Beatrix and Zelda—ambiguous and manipulative figures—and the master of the house himself, who alternates between moments of severity and gestures of vulnerability. The young woman uncovers dark secrets, mysterious rituals, and violent behaviors, facing challenges that will test her inner strength. Nathalie is courted by Oliver, a simple and affectionate young man. Will the two of them be able to build a peaceful future, leaving the shadows of the villa behind? The novel explores themes such as power, manipulation, trauma, and resilience, tracing the protagonist’s journey toward freedom and love.
