Terre di Canossa, the 2026 edition kicks off with a fairytale itinerary that will stop in Montecatini

From May 7 to 10, 75 crews will participate in the regularity event for historic cars along the most fascinating roads between Tuscany and Liguria. This year as well, the itinerary will promote the excellence and hospitality of the territories it traverses.

Saturday, May 9, the Terre di Canossa will stop in Montecatini. The passage of the 75 splendid vintage cars will enliven the city starting from 12:00 PM, the scheduled time for the stop in Piazza Giusti, which will last until 3:00 PM.

Terre di Canossa, organized by Canossa Events in collaboration for the sporting side with Scuderia Tricolore, was founded in 2011 and is registered on the Aci Sport national sporting calendar as a “super-tourist regularity race” for historic cars and some supercars, with international participation.

The event is not only sport, but also and above all culture and tourism: an extraordinary journey along the millennial roads of Matilda of Canossa, crossing wonderful landscapes, cities of art, industrious districts, pristine mountain villages, and enchanting seaside hamlets. Of particular importance is the aspect of hospitality: a gastronomic journey that, by exploring recipes and typical products, will tell the story of the best culinary traditions of the territories crossed. The natural consequence is the international promotion of the territories passed through, highlighting their history, culture, and great excellence, from gastronomy to craftsmanship.

As per tradition, the program includes 4 unforgettable event days with a route that this year will be based in Forte dei Marmi, the pearl of Versilia, for the 3 driving stages on the most fascinating roads between Tuscany and Liguria. Completing the “Made in Italy” experience are the evening events where art, culture, music, and food and wine will merge.

The 2026 edition will be characterized by the common thread of the “Bicentenary of Collodi,” creating moments throughout the entire event related to the celebration of the great writer and author of the timeless fairytale “The Adventures of Pinocchio.” Collodi, born Carlo Lorenzini, owes his stage name to his mother’s town of origin, namely the splendid village of Collodi in the province of Pistoia, one of this year’s most anticipated stops.

The gathering on Thursday, May 7, at the Augustus Hotel & Resort in Forte dei Marmi will officially kick off the 2026 edition. The first stage on Friday, May 8, will be dedicated to the marble roads, the Val di Magra, and the Strada delle Cinque Terre, passing through iconic places such as Massa, Carrara, Sarzana, Porto Lotti-La Spezia (where lunch is scheduled), the Spezia Maritime Military Arsenal, and Lerici.

The second stage on Saturday, May 9, will be dedicated to Garfagnana, the Serchio Valley, Valdinevole, and the Lands of Pinocchio, passing through the towns of Castelnuovo Garfagnana, Borgo a Mozzano and the Devil’s Bridge, Collodi, and Montecatini Terme (where the lunch stop is scheduled at the Terme del Tettuccio). Final stops in Lucca, Camaiore, and Viareggio.

The third stage, scheduled for Sunday, May 10, will be dedicated to the Lower Valdarno with passages in Pisa, Pontedera and the Piaggio Museum, Calci and the Charterhouse, and Massarosa. The final arrival is scheduled at La Canniccia Motor Club in Forte dei Marmi.

This year as well, the event will be “zero emissions” from the point of view of climate-altering gases: in fact, since 2015, the event has voluntarily adopted the CarbonZero protocol, through which eco-responsible organizational choices are made and CO2 emissions are totally offset through the purchase of certified sustainability credits at the Tuscan-Emilian Apennine National Park. A complete description of the event and further information can be found on the official website.
